The Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) is seeking a suitable Ski Coach with a passion for winter sports and organisational excellence. Travelling with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA)/VIS Aerial Skiing Team, the successful candidate will build on the success of the current program to produce high performance results through world class technical coaching and teaching of skiing skills.
Working with the OWIA/VIS’ Aerial Skiing Program Management Team, the Ski Coach will be responsible for:
• Athlete management and welfare
• Technical coaching and teaching of skiing
• Program scheduling
• Athlete training camp planning and logistics
• Equipment management
The successful applicant will have suitable qualifications and some of the following experiences:
• Ski Coaching/Instructing, qualifications and experience
• Ski Program Management knowledge and experience
• A knowledge and understanding of High Performance Sport, including suitable experience
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or equivalent High Performance Sport experience
This is an Australian Winter Season position commencing during May 2016 for 4-5 months with a possibility of further employment overseas from November 2016 – March 2017.
