Competing in only her fourth World Cup event, the 21-year-old AIS/VIS scholarship holder clearly showed in Minsk/Raubichi, Belarus, last night that she has the potential to further improve her performances in future years.
World Cup results of 15th, 10th, 12th and 6th plus 11th in this month's World Championship ended a strong first year of competition for Peel.
The women's event was won by current World Champion Shuang Cheng of China.
Peel said she was pleased with her season and will focus on a rigorous fitness and strength program in Australia before broadening her jumps repertoire in readiness for next year.
"I'm really happy with the way I did my two best jumps today but what I have to do now is up the degree of difficulty," Peel said.
Teammate David Morris unfortunately was unable to advance to the 12-man final, finishing qualifying in 14th, missing the final by just five points.
Belarus jumper Anton Kushnir delighted his home country crowd to claim victory.
