Stephanie Hickey
Hickey makes first World Cup final

Ski and Snowboard Australia rider Stephanie Hickey has ridden to a personal best result in the opening snowboard cross World Cup of the season in Chapelco, Argentina, making the first final of her career.

Hickey qualified in 13th place in a time of one minute 42.08 seconds, 6.59 seconds behind fastest qualifier Lindsey Jacobellis of the United States. [more]

European tour for Carter

Dual figure skating Olympian Jo Carter has headed to Europe to perform for another season in the Holiday on Ice show ‘Spirit’.

Carter starred in the show last year, and is looking forward to the current season, which will be “substantially shorter than last tour”. She plans to return home in March ’09, ready to decide whether she wants to try for another Olympic tea, if that option is still open to her.

Curlers benefit from NZ training camp

The Australian Men's Curling Team has headed to Europe to compete in the Oslo Cup following a ten-day training camp in New Zealand.

The team of Hugh Millikin, Ian Palangio, Sean Hall, Steve Johns and Steve Hewitt were located in Naseby, training alongside the New Zealand national team. [more]
