Kerry made a strong start to the event, with a 17th place finish in the opening short program, scoring a personal best 70.36 points. This performance eclipsed his previous best score of 67.37 recorded at the Nebelhorn trophy in 2013.
In the final free skate, Kerry unfortunately dropped back three places to finish the event in 20th place. His total point’s score of 194.57 was also a personal best.
Australia’s other skate at the World Championships, Brooklee Han, had a disappointing event to finish last in 35th place.
