On the back of the podium performance, Greig will now move up to the World Cup A Division at the next event, tobe held in the Netherlands, known as one of the biggest events of the season Greig will race in front of large crowds from the fanatical Dutch speed skating fans.
The result also sees Greig qualify for the World Championships in Gangneung, Korea, the Speed Skating venue for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The World Championships are scheduled for February 9-12 2017.
Greig also competed in the 1000m B Division event, finishing in 11th place.
Joshua Capponi was also in action for Australia competing in the distance events, placing 12th in the Mass Start distance semi-final and finishing 29th in the 5000m B Division event.
The next event in Heerenveen, Netherlands, will take place from December 9-11.
