The B Division features athletes just outside the top 20 in the world who compete in the A Division.
In the first 500m B Division event which took place on day two of competition, Greig placed 17th, but really turned it on for the second event, recording the fastest time of all B Division competitors.
As a result of winning B division, Greig will now participate in the A Division for the first time in his World Cup career at the next sprint World Cup event.
Greig also competed in the 1000m B Division event placing eighth.
Also competing in Heerenveen, was Greig's AIS team-mate Brooke Lochland. Brooke finished in 22nd place in the 3000m B Division event, and 21st place in the Mass Start.
The next ISU Long Track Speed Skating event is scheduled to take place next weekend in Kolomna, Russia.
