On day two of competition, the AIS/VIS scholarship holder was ninth in the 500m event, only .59 seconds behind the winner Joji Kato, Japan.
In the 1000m. 20-year-old Greig was paired with the current Olympic Champion Tae-Bum Mo of Korea whom he beat but finished 12th place, 1.61 seconds behind the winner Samuel Schwarz of Germany.
Australian Coach Desly Hill was excited after the weekend of the racing:
“Dan skated a really good 500m and was much better in the 1000m also".
"He was a little under the weather with a stomach upset, so I am sure he can go even quicker".
Greig has made fantastic progress this season, after beginning the season in B division (outside the top 20 in the world).
Greig has collected significant World Cup points over the weekend in China and will now start in the A division in both distances at the next World Cup in Calgary, Canada, during mid January.
