Fellow Australian short track skaters, Pierre Boda, Armstrong Lazenby and Nate Henry are 20th, 30th and 38th respectively.
"I did not expect Deanna to go that far in the 500m, because she is not a 500m skater," Australian coach, Ann Zhang, said.
"Since the 2012 nationals she has not skated the 500 metres at the past six World Cup events, however, she did race well.
"The Junior World Championships is a race skill, which is why she has made it this far.
"Deanna still has the 1000m to go tomorrow, and the plan is to make the top six overall."
The ISU Short Track Junior World Championships in Warsaw, Poland, continue on Sunday.
