Last weekend, the 17 year-old Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder finished fifth in the 1500 final in Nagoya, Japan, and she has impressed good judges by backing it up with another final over the shorter distance.
The event was won by Shim Suk Hee from Korea, with Li Jianrou from China second and Kim Min-Jung, also from Korea, third.
Lockett broke the Asian dominance by beating home Xiao Han from China for fourth place.
Julie Jung finished 10th in the opening 1000 metre race at the Shanghai World Cup, making it an impressive weekend for the Australian women short track speed skaters.
The leading performance from our male skaters came from Pierre Boda, recording a 12th in the opening men's 1000 metre race.
The men's relay team also competed finishing in 12th.
