The AIS Short Track Speed Skating program continues to receive training at one of the best facilities in the world, the Icehouse in Melbourne's Docklands.

The AIS program relocated from Brisbane to Melbourne following the opening of the facility in 2010.

A total of 10 AIS and AIR athletes have been training 10-11 sessions per week at the facility including ice time and strength and conditioning training.

The developing group of skaters has received leadership from Australia's leading athlete, two-time Olympian Lachlan Hay, who has recently returned to training following a season ending injury in the 2010-2011 season.
