- Australia's first ever World Championship medal - Malcolm Milne, in the Downhill event in Val Gardena, Italy, on February 15 1970.
- World Cup gold to Steven Lee in the Super-G World Cup event in Furano, Japan, March 3 1985.
- World Cup gold to Zali Steggall in the slalom in Park City, USA, November 23 1997.
- Australia's first ever snow sport medal at the Olympic Winter Games, bronze to Zali Steggall in the slalom in Nagano, JPN, February 19 1998.
- World Cup silver to Zali Steggall in the slalom in Mammoth Mountain, USA, December 3 1998.
- World Championship gold to Zali Steggall in the slalom in Vail, USA, February 13 1999.

The OWIA provides support to individually selected athletes to assist them with their improvement towards becoming competitive at the highest levels of their sport.

Eligible athletes are invited to apply for OWIA Individual Athlete Performance Grant.
Eligibility for consideration includes:
- To an individual athlete who is most likely to be selected to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
- To an individual athlete who is currently, likely to be or has been, the best performed Australian in their sport.
- Typically, there will be only one Individual Athlete Performance Grant recipient in each sport. (Note: only those athletes in those sports who meet the minimum selection criteria will be eligible for consideration. For the avoidance of doubt, where no athlete of a particular sport has achieved the minimum selection criteria, there may be no Individual Athlete Performance Grant recipient for that sport).
