Q & A
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment is getting to compete for Australia at my first World Championships in Milan. Being in front of such a big crowd with my family there was an amazing experience.
I began my sport in .... I first started skating at the age of 4 at my local ice rink on the Gold Coast. Starting in the small skate school program once a week, which grew into twice a week, 3 times and now every day of the week.
When I’m not training or competing I am probably catching up on sleep, watching tv or getting my friends together to go out for dinner.
I enjoy my sport because it is different to any other sport. Figure skating is the perfect balance of athleticism and performance. It gives me the opportunity to express myself and personality while showing off very difficult skills. Plus it’s helped me travel the world and meet so many amazing people.
Favourite competition: Australian National Championships because it’s one of the only times I get to compete in Australia for my friends and family or the Cup of Nice because Nice is such a beautiful beach city In the south of France.
Favourite food: A full big breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomato, hash browns and toast with a big milkshake on the side.
Favourite music: 80s and 90s pop and rock. Anything from Van Halen to Donna Summer. At the moment I really like Client Liason.
Favourite other sport: Pole Vaulting. From a young age I’ve always wanted to learn how to Pole vault because it seems so fun to launch yourself in the air like that. It’s a sport I got to watch at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and that definitely made me want to learn and continue to watch.
