VIS aerial skier Laura Peel has continued her great form in Ruka, Finland, following up her World Cup victory from the previous weekend with a win in a Europa Cup event.
With most aerial skiing nations currently training in Ruka, the two Europa Cup competitions had a strong field.
On the first day of competition, Peel finished in seventh place after having some trouble with landings on her triple back somersault jumps.
On day two, Peel competed one of the most difficult jumps ever performed by a female competitor, full-full-full, a triple twisting triple back somersault.
Peel scored a huge 103.03 points to comfortably take the win ahead of Canadian Marion Thenault win second place with 87.57 points and 2018 Olympic gold medalist Hanna Huskova of Belarus in third with a score of 81.90.
Peel's VIS teammate Abbey Willcox also competed after recently arriving from water jump training in Brisbane to begin jumping on snow. Willcox finished 20th on day one and 18th on day two.
