Bobsleigh pilot Bree Walker has had a great weekend competing on her most successful track in Innsbruck, Austria, taking two medals and along with brakewoman Kiara Reddingius claimed Australia’s best ever result in the two-woman, just missing the podium in fourth place. In the first monobob event, Walker continued her success on the Igls track, with her first monobob World Cup medal of the season in a silver medal performance. On day two, Walker backed up with another strong performance, this time finishing in the bronze medal position. The 2022 Olympian has now podiumed in monobob on the Igls track every season since 2019, while competing across various levels of the sport. After the monobob events, Walker commented. “I don’t really know what it is about this place but I just understand the track well, I have a good start which matters on this track and I just enjoy racing here. We are still waiting to hear if this is the venue for the 2026 Olympics so only time will tell.” |
