The 2014 New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Awards were held at the Australian Turf Club in Sydney, with winter sports taking out two of the major awards on the night.
Sochi Olympian Cameron Bolton was the winner of the Ian Thorpe OAM Outstanding Achievement award, following his inspiration performance at the Sochi games where he competed with injury to reach the small final.
Winter Sports was also crowned the Sydney Olympic Park Program of the Year, based on proving half of the athletes to the Australian team in Sochi.
