OWIA INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES SUPPORT

The OWIA provides support to individually selected athletes to assist them with their improvement towards becoming competitive at the highest levels of their sport.

Individual Athlete Performance Grant
Eligible athletes are invited to apply for OWIA Individual Athlete Performance Grant.

Eligibility for consideration includes:
  • To an individual athlete who is most likely to be selected to the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
  • To an individual athlete who is currently, likely to be or has been, the best performed Australian in their sport.
  • Typically, there will be only one Individual Athlete Performance Grant recipient in each sport. (Note: only those athletes in those sports who meet the minimum selection criteria will be eligible for consideration. For the avoidance of doubt, where no athlete of a particular sport has achieved the minimum selection criteria, there may be no Individual Athlete Performance Grant recipient for that sport).

Athletes from the following sports may be eligible for consideration for a 2020-21 OWIA Individual Athlete Performance Grant:
  • Alpine Skiing
  • Biathlon
  • Bobsleigh
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Curling
  • Figure Skating
  • Luge
  • Long Track Speed Skating
  • Short Track Speed Skating
  • Skeleton

For more information and to apply, please visit the OWIA Policies and Documents page.
